This week in power × markets
the briefing · 2026-09-26
Defense and IT contractors dominate this week's overlap file: $T, $BA, $GD and $DELL all drew both congressional trading and fresh federal contract signals, while insiders elsewhere moved roughly half a billion dollars out of $AVGO in a single session.
- The contract-and-Congress convergence is the headline: nine members each traded $T and $BA, six traded $GD and three traded $DELL — all four tickers flagged for federal contract activity, with $GD and $DELL also carrying insider-trade signals. Separately, four members traded $COIN as both the CFTC and SEC generated signals on the name, and $CTSH (4 members), $EPAM (2) and $INFY (1) traded against an executive-action signal.
- Big Tech remains the caucus consensus, with committee-sector overlap attached: $MSFT drew 23 members (55 buys/40 sells, 11 committee-sector overlaps), $AAPL 24 members (30b/25s, 9 overlaps), $GOOGL 14 members (11b/21s, 8 overlaps) and $NVDA 18 members (29b/30s, 3 overlaps). $ABT logged 13 members (16b/30s) with 4 overlaps.
- The two loudest individual filings: Nancy Pelosi disclosed a sale of $AAPL valued at $5M–$25M, and Chip Roy disclosed a purchase of Atlas Energy Solutions ($AESI) in the same $5M–$25M band.
- On the corporate side of the ledger, Henry Samueli logged 26 open-market sales of $AVGO totaling roughly $499.1M on Sept. 25, CrowdStrike CFO Burt Podbere and others sold about $251.0M of $CRWD, and Redwire's Ae Red Holdings sold ~$84.3M of $RDW — against which Berkshire Hathaway bought roughly $409.1M of $LEN and Nippon Life added ~$15.0M of $CRBG.
